Day 2 - Senses

After the participants spent their previous evening training their vocal skills, singing karaoke, the second day of the project started quietly, but very energetically, because the theme of the day was Me And My Senses. We watched and we saw, we listened and we heard, we moved and we went with the flow, we discovered and we developed.

We played various games. One of them was the mirrol game. We had to choose a partner and then followed his or her movements . Then we chose another partner and danced together with a scarf. It symbolized the bonds between people. Before having lunch we were instructed to find a buddy for ourselves. Our exercise was to spend as much time as we can with our new friend. In the afternoon we concentrated on smells and palpable feelings. At first we had to massage our buddy then we blindfolded each others and showed different tastes to our peers. Last but not least, individually, we had to create a „parfume”. Drawing a picture about how you feel after the fist day was the last exercise, we showed it for the others and titled it.

The games’ purposes were to open us up to new understandings of our senses: how we perceived touching, being touched, tasting, smelling, moving, seeing and responding to one another. All and all, this day has brought us closer as a team by exploring our limits in terms of breaking our invisible and defensive walls, letting in new people, new minds and new ideas.

We had a childhood. We are grown up now. However, those memories will forever long in our now rigid minds. The memories of how we used to play, or the process of learning itself. That young conception of learning was the goal of today’s workshop. Recuperating our lost need to play and be creative. We have broken our shells to be able to accept novelty just as a child does.

With fun and joy we expect the following days as our professional trainers help us on our way to learning the ways of unverbal communication.
