DETECT Training - Day 3

We started the morning with words. A lot of them. The whole team had a chance to ask questions and share thoughts and emotions about the training. After this, our next activity was to make collage with our pictures from our childhood and now as we are as trainers. We had many newspapers, scissors, glue and crayons in order to create a representaion this path we went trough from toddlers to facilitators. Then, we had a chance to show it also on the stage.

After delicious lunch, our stomache was full but we were ready for another exercise. The task was to walk around the room and take a place we find most comfortable. Closing our eyes, we tryed to recall a feeling when everything is possible and find an image, sound or a simbol that we can connect to it. Also to put our hand on a body part where we feel it the most and it was our neutral state. After that we started to move around again each time stopping to recall another feeling. First it was resistance, then happiness, empathy, confusion and playing. Each time we remembered one of those feelings at the end we needed to return to the neutral state.

After this we had a chance to really experience resistance. We were in pairs, putting our hands on the shoulders of the other person and trying to push and give resistance. Than we swiched pairs several times. Next we tried experiencing resistance from a different position, holding back the partner from behind placing our hands on the hips. Finally we had 15 minutes to discuss in pairs about our experience.

For the final exercise, we found a new partner. One person was lying on the floor on a side and the other one was behind him trying to have a close connection. The person receiving the touches had his eyes closed and the other one gave gentle impulses to different body parts while taking care of himself. This exercises was supported by relaxing music. Finally everyone had the chance to be in both roles, experiencing both giving and receiving. After the exercises ended we had the opportunity to reflect on it verbally or non-verbally using paper and crayons to draw together with our partner.

This day gave us an intense experience while discovering many things about ourselves and the others, we shared emotions and sweaty body parts and that was really awesome!!!
