‘’The pursuit isn't all or nothing- it’s all and nothing’’

Despite the heat- the 4th day- we started all fresh and fruity, since we had the time to have a little me-time after the warm up session. Besides, we all had a blast the night before at the Balaton lake during our intercultural food sharing and pizza overload. Also, rumors are going that some stayed longer for a crazy wig- oversized glass-bubbles group karaoke…

Now back to today’s sessions, the topic for today was sounds. We started the day with a warm up ,as usual. Then the first activity was to choose a partner and form a duo. One of the pair had to lay down on the ground and the other had to start moving some body parts and give impulses. After both persons did this, new duo’s had to be made. This second duo session was about breathing, the person on the ground had to breathe deeply in and out and the other person had to touch ( give impulses) and eventually end up on the ribs. The person puts both hands on the ribs of the person laying down and should move ( and press) with the rhythm of the breathing of the person on the ground. After this, everyone had to describe in one word how they felt. Terms and feelings like: ‘’calm, energetic, slow, ok, cheerful, everything, tensed ‘’ is what you could hear in the group.

After a short break we continued in a circle and started to build a ‘’sound Dom’’ with the voices of the whole group. The focus was on how a sound is arriving on the body and how you feel. The idea was to say ‘’OOOOOOOOOOOO0000000ooooooo’’ while standing in a circle and a few people sitting in the middle on the ground while the circle would slowly come closer to the middle. This was going on until everyone, who wanted of course, had the chance to sit on the ground and experience this sound that the group is producing. Immediately after this, the assignment was to start painting on paper and how you experienced the moment when you were sitting in the middle of the sound producing group.

After the painting, there was an exposition where the whole group, while looking at the same painting, had the opportunity to express feelings by making sounds. This was done for each painting and together we made some very interesting and completely different sounds to express our feelings. Very interesting to see that what different effects a painting can have on different people.

Another thing we did on this day was to sing in groups of 5 or 6. While sitting in a circle each person had the chance to sing a song which was special for them. After this we had the chance to talk about our songs by sharing the story and pick an element that is important and has a special meaning. Then, together with the group and the chosen elements of each person, the group had to make a completely new story and show this on the stage. This was an inspiring moment for each of us and the moment to show your cooperation skills, creativity and ideas on the stage. Incredible how every group used the tools in the room and their imagination to perform and show something beautiful.

We ended this rousing day with a candle reflection and had the chance to share ( or not of course) our feelings, experiences and thoughts about the day. Also the wish for the goldfish and a reflection on that was discussed by each person. After this, a delicious dinner was waiting for us- made by the lovely and hardworking couple- at our accommodation.
