CONNECT Conference | Day 3

This day we woke up to a cold autumn morning. After yesterday activities we were a bit tired but we overcame it during our first activity which was led by Agita. This game was about that the chosen persons were a cop and a killer. The killer was supposed to kill by blinking and the cop had to figure it out.

After this warm up game, Peter had his presentation on different kinds of conversation and also consisted of the pair activity. One person was the leader and the other acted like a mirror. Than they switched the roles and acted the same way. The twist came on when both people were supposed to be leaders. And its purpose was to reach a moment when both of them will process the same move without forced mirroring and realizing who the leader is. Than Peter told us about the theory of conversations and its types – dialogue, discussion and debate.

Right after we continued with the sharades. A lot of words were given and we had to guess what the person is trying to show us by pantomime.

Also we explored the town of Ommen. It was short (maybe the reason was the upcoming lunch).

In the afternoon we started with the workshop from Common Senses based on touches. We divided into groups of three. The person in the middle had to close his eyes and just feel the touches from other two. He could move in the direction of the touch but it was up to that person. At the end the person was allowed to move by himself without touches but having them on mind. So the person could express the given touches in his moving style.

Than we were painting our state of mind. A lot of people were relaxed after the game so our pictures looked like some lines and were more abstract.

Patricia brought us the nonverbal game where we had to make a scene within five seconds. After this we had to pick one product and write it on the paper. Than the papers were switched and we had to make an advertisement for this product or a related scene.

Roger’s game was the name of a game not similar as tic tac toe. Two teams had to choose the strategy and make a connection of five crosses or circles. For every five connected symbols the teams were given a point. But it had a limitation that the field was 7x8 and every team had to play 25 times. The more connections they made the more points they got. The purpose of this game was the strategy chosen. Teams as always chose the competitive playing instead of cooperation. The task was not to win but to get the most points. They didn’t have to compete but cooperate for more points. They did not.

We ended up the day with the shadow theatre where every group was acting like in the movie but only with shadow expressions.
